Ten Month Elephant

Seth's getting all grown up... He's ten months old now. He's just about got two teeth through the top to add to his bottom ones. His mobility is improving with a little bit of creeping here and there. And he just continues to get more and more handsome, smart, and charming!

Midwest Tour Ends

Four states and many family visits later, we have returned to Southern California. Seth did well on the plane ride home. We think he was a little extra cuddly because of all the love and attention he received from everyone.

We promise to post more, including visuals, from our trip. Just wanted everyone to know that we arrived home safe and loved.

Baby's First Earthquake

Seth slept through his first earthquake. He woke up when I called to check on him.

There was a 5.4 magnitude earthquake in San Bernardino County today. Seth, who was being taken care of today by our friend Marilyn Chesnutt, was in Malibu. Marilyn said it was the strongest one she's felt in Malibu since the Northridge quake.

Mr. Seth Goes to Washington (pics)

June 19-24 we were in Washington, DC, for Kari's annual We the People Coordinator Conference. Last year at this conference, Seth was an announcement and a hope. This year Kari's coordinator friends got to meet Seth and Randy. It was wonderful to share our joy in person with the hundreds of wonderful folks that Kari has worked with for nearly 12 years. Somehow we didn't get very many pictures of Seth with the We the People folks but here are a couple. (If any of you WTP folks are reading this and have pictures, please forward!)

This is Seth with Marilyn from Texas. She is one of his faithful blog friends.

And here Seth is with Roger and Claudette, friends from Massachusetts.

Here are several pics of Seth being admired by "his" crowds.

In part II of this series, you'll see some pics of Seth in the hotel, at the National Zoo and with our friends, the Butlers.

Nine Month Elephant

Here Seth is at nine months old! (details about the elephant thing here). He had his doctor visit today. He is 28 inches long (50th percentile) and 26 pounds, 2 ounces (pushing 100th percentile). Kari's brother says, when reporting on his daughter's percentiles, that she is 100th percentile for cute. We think Seth falls into that category too!

New Tricks (vid)

Seth pulled out a whole new bag of tricks for the end of June. We could not catch him waving on video, but we did document crawling and clapping on June 26th...

Shimmy Shimmy (vid)

Every time I think Seth couldn't get any cuter, he proves me wrong.

Food Good (vid)

On June 5th Seth weighed in at 25 pounds! How could a seven and half month old weigh that much? He eats with gusto...

Elephant Update (pic)

Here's Seth's seven-month elephant picture! Also, we found his two-month elephant picture and, for posterity's sake, added it to the post titled Six Elephants...

In just the last couple days, Seth has taken great developmental strides. He has been eating better -- as in more food in mouth than elsewhere. Also, he is kind of scooting around on his bottom more and making other "moves" toward crawling. Look out world!

P.S. Check out the "new" April 20 post "Fresno trips." Somehow we didn't get it posted back when we wrote it.
